Highfields First Aid At Work Course

• Why This Course?

  • The first aid at work 3 day course is suitable for people aged 16+ who may need to provide first aid by responding to accidents, injuries or illnesses encountered in the workplace

    On completion of this course you will receive a first aid at work certificate which is valid for 3 years.. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

    This 3-day first aid at work course is suitable for larger organisations and/or high risk industries where injuries or accidents may be more serious.

    This course is particularly popular within the construction industry but is applicable to all industries where accidents may occur.

• What Does The Training Involve?

  • In addition to the topics covered on the 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course, this First Aid at Work course covers treatment for a variety of injuries and medical conditions.

    Learners will develop the first aid skills and confidence to help someone who: is unresponsive | bleeding | suffering from shock | choking | feels faint | has hypothermia or heat exhaustion | has been poisoned | has burns | has a head injury | has an injury to bone or muscle

    Learners will also be able to help a casualty who is having a: seizure | heart attack | stroke | angina attack | severe allergic reaction | asthma attack | diabetic emergency

    The course will also provide information on: assessing a casualty | monitoring a casualty | where to get help | electrical incidents | accident recording & Reporting | the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH)

• Step By Step Guide

    2 – Receive Course Pack
    Your place on the course in now confirmed. You will receive a form in your order confirmation. You must fill this out before the course starts as soon as possible.

    You will also receive further instructions regarding attending the course.

    3 – Start Your Course
    Arrive at the course venue at least 30 minutes before the course starts. You will receive all the course resources you need at the venue.

    Remember to have your ID close by. You must attend each day of the course. You will fail the course if you do not.

    4 – Complete your Course
    Attend every day of the course and complete the exam. Your tutor will prepare you for your exam and assessment.

    Once you have passed, you will receive your certificate via email. Resits are available if needed.

    The course will start on a Wednesday, you may choose which Wednesday you would like to start on as long as availability permits.
